This course uses readings, discussions, and written assignments to analyze the role of interdisciplinary leadership in the delivery of quality care and patient safety. The learner will explore how the utilization of evidence-based research findings, patient care technology, and information-management systems guides patient-centered care.

The foundation of this course involves the assessment, synthesis, and establishment of healthcare policies and/or quality improvement measures as they pertain to professional nursing practices, and recommend a change that will benefit the healthcare community.

This course will highlight the role of interprofessional communication and collaboration in guiding safe, patient-centered care. The learner will identify and explore their values and behaviors as an agent of change and will serve to examine integral parts in the delivery of patient-centered, individualized care. This course will support and facilitate your ability to perform an appropriate healthcare system/policy assessment to address the needs of patients requiring healthcare services. This health assessment embodies the role of health promotion and disease prevention in a culturally diverse population across the lifespan.
